For those of you who went to Indiana Landmarks’ Mid Century Modern Home tour last week, we hope you enjoyed it!  For those of you that missed it, I’ve highlighted a few of my favorites from the tour below:

It was truly an honor to have been given the opportunity to tour and view these five very different and one of a kind architectural homes and even more exciting to hear their individual stories over the past 50+ years.

A special thank you to Brad and Sharon Fugate for opening their International-style house up for the tour.  It was the first time I have ever had the opportunity to tour an I-Style home and it was superb. By the way, Brad and Sharon own local store “Relish” in downtown Bloomington.

My personal favorite on the tour was the home of Ted Jones who’s home was inspired by a design by the late great architect Earl Flansburgh (1931-2009).  Flasnburgh’s plans were somehow featured in an issue of Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.  Flansburgh is perhaps best known for the work he accomplished while with the venerable Boston based design firm TAC – The Architect’s Collaborative.

To go with the Modernism theme, I invite you to read a recent Arch Record article: Around the World.
