I recently read the story, Designs help owners age in place, and I found it to be very relevant to the architectural industry. With a growing aging population, we have to constantly be thinking about “universal design” or “aging in place” design concepts to make all environments safer and more accommodating for people with mobility.

I recently enjoyed reading an IUPUI news story about an interior design student who designed a “safe house” to protect child-led families in Swaziland. At OMS, we believe in community involvement, and we are glad to see that IUPUI is encouraging its students to use the knowledge and skills they are learning in the classroom to benefit not.
